Another Good Reminder

So it's not often that a member of one's family is famous enough to make it on TV. My uncle Dave was fortunate enough to make it this week.

The Bright Side of Being Sick for 14 days...

After being sick for over a week, my cute kids come in one morning with my toast and orange juice on this plate that looks like a sun with their notes to me as the rays. It says "You are our SUNSHINE!" And "you are a million drops in my life." etc.
It's amazing after having four kids so close together, how independent they have become, especially with Lena as their little mommy, doing everything just like I would. Kind of crazy starting over with a newborn, but exciting all the same. The kids are so different this time. Jacob is older than Lena was when he was born!
Just hope I get over this soon. This has been worse than mono, but at least not as bad as dengue fever.

Legacy

Larry H. Miller, long-time owner of the Utah Jazz and many other businesses, passed away Friday. There have been many tributes by radio, TV, and newspapers highlighting his highs and even some lows. Even though he was someone who did not thrive in school, his business prowess was rarely challenged. He was also very involved in philanthropic activities. In all reality, his passing has brought a lot of thoughts to mind.

What legacy do I want to leave? How do I want to be remembered?

My biggest wish is that I will be remembered as someone who tried to show love to all of God's children. In writing this I realize, I have a long way to go. I will start with my family and move outward from there.

Defining Characteristics

In a talk at church on Sunday, a question was posed that I would like to post for comments. The question was, "What was the defining characteristic of Joseph Smith?".

Some of the items that were brought up were perseverance, obedience, and charitable.

I thought faithful would have been a great fit. It was by faith that he saw the Heaven's open. It was by faith that brought him through the great trials. And it was by faith that miracles were wrought with his hands.

I would love to hear your comments about that question as well as pose another.

Summer

Start the summer off playing with Grandparents in California~daily crafts with Grandma, beach play, running with kids.

Lots of fun hikes: The Y, Rocky Mouth,

Donut Falls, Timp (just Mom & Dad)

Lava Hot Springs – All 6 of us float down the Portneuf River on one big 4 person raft.

Thalman get together in Utah, lots of fun including floating down the Provo River.

What's in a name?

I thought I'd start with the name. We called my grandparent's home "The House of 1001 Delights" and it held at least that many. So, I was quite honored when, after staying with us, my brother and sister-in-law christened our home, 'The Villa Lindsay.' My sister once said that we should live our lives to have something worth writing about. So, my two hopes for this are: first, that we're living such to have something worth sharing and second, that Villa Lindsay is an enjoyable place for friends and family to visit.
